The first couple miles, until the Maunawili Falls turn off, are well maintained. The rest is a bit rougher but not poor by any means; everything is passable despite a handful of downed trees (likely from the rain last month!), and two spots in valleys where the very back section of the trail has been eroded and makes for some minor rock scrambling.
