This intimate Sausalito waterfront hotel with 31 rooms and suites is a magnificent location for a uniquely inspiring luxury retreat. Chic and understated interiors lead to simply mesmerizing views from the private furnished room decks. The Inn Above Tide is situated in Sausalito, a bedroom community of San Francisco, at the edge of the Bay. The hotel is right next to the ferry terminal and a 10-minute walk from Sausalito's little main drag. It's a half-hour drive into downtown San Francisco over the Golden Gate Bridge or a 25-minute ferry ride to San Francisco's Ferry Building. The Inn Above Tide is a hidden gem. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable. Small little touches like binoculars in the room, to look at the stunning views over to San Francisco in the distance. The continental breakfast they provide is delicious and the orange juice is the BEST! Definitely recommend. Our Story. On July 15th, 1947, the Tides Inn opened to the public with the vision to be “the finest thing that could be developed and still keep the rural atmosphere”. The Tides soon established itself as the “Virginia Family Resort”. In the early 1940s, the land on which the Tides Inn now sits was known as the Ashburn Farm.The Inn Above Tide reopened for vacation and leisure travelers on January 25, 2021, and our reservations team is available to assist with any booking inquiries.
